ICYI: The High Hills of Santee are located in South Carolina on a narrow 25 mile stretch of land that rises up on the eastern side of the upper Santee River, and run parallel to the Wateree River. It was established as an “upland remnant of an ancient sea shore.” The high hills stand nearly 300 feet above sea level and provide expansive views onto the coastal plain and swampy low country.
