wash it.

Wash your wooden goods with hot, soapy water. Make sure you wash both sides regardless of which side was used. This will allow the board to dry evenly.

DO NOT soak or keep submerged.

DO NOT PUT ANY WOODEN GOODS IN YOUR DISHWASHER!

dry it.

Dry your board standing vertically.

This allows both sides to dry evenly to prevent warping or cracking.

DO NOT lay flat on the counter to dry!

oil it.

After using your board, it needs to be conditioned with a mineral oil/beeswax product such as Walrus Oil or Howard’s. This can be done as much as you like but should be done at least every month. Wood moves and is susceptible to warping and cracking. Conditioning your board will prevent this from happening.

DO NOT use any cooking oils such as olive oil or vegetable oils as these will spoil and turn rancid on your board.
