it requires a genuine fight to produce one well designed object of relatively permanent value.

Founder/Dreamer/Creator

Collegiate golf coach by day, woodworker by night. Low Slung Moon’s founder, designer, and woodworker has never fit into many norms.

Born and raised in North Augusta, South Carolina, Darby has a style that embraces history, while combining modern elements and unique spatial vision. This former All-SEC athlete and 6-time Coach of the Year has a business degree from Alabama, a Masters in Sports Psychology from Illinois State University, and a doctorate in sass. She recently completed her certification in welding (GMAW and SMAW) from Wake Tech.

To those that know her, Ashlee is the jack of all trades and the actual glue for L.S. Moon and its creator. She’s not that into wood, or dust for that matter, but she has an eye for design, is an artist in negotiation, and has an opinion for everything. Her part time job is keeping the creator on track, dust extraction, and squelching airy dreams that don’t match the company vision.

Born and raised in Hendersonville, NC, Dean is a former All-ACC women’s golfer at NC State University, professional auto detailer, and moonlights in law enforcement.

Amy Yates

Creative Director

Born and raised in Goose Creek-ish, this SC native is a 3-Time Conference Coach of the Year and former Head Softball Coach at Limestone University. A decorated athlete in her playing days, she was named All-CVAC all four years with a career batting average of .369 with 115 RBI’s, 23 Home Runs and is still tied for most doubles. Being such a big deal, she was named to the All-Time CVAC Team. It’s not shocking that she has 76 career stolen bases the way she steals the tape measures in the shop. Through her work with LS Moon, we have uncovered multiple positive associations between elite shortstops and aspiring woodworkers.

“This experience with LS Moon has allowed me to dream without boundaries and help create pieces of furniture that speak to me like store-bought furniture never could. I can now call myself a do-er, and not just a dreamer.” -A. Yates
